Quickly following his well received debut, Sean Nelson unleashes another fury of intricate and intoxicating bass music with this new Shivastep EP, ODE TO THA GRIND. Foraging deeper into dirty southern lean and the footwork/juke influences of his native Chicago and then honed with a deft compositional touch, these tracks pulse with undeniable vigor and passion, laying the listener bare to the music's many satisfying twists and tangles. One can hear the fragmented landscape of current electronic music dissolved into the heady concoction, often dipping into the past to push into to the future. Once again, nothing is left sacred as the vocals mangle idols and icons alike in fleshing the vision of destruction/creation.

Shivastep continues defining a visceral yet visionary approach to electronic music, exploring depths new and old while never taking the focus from the freedom losing yourself in a good rhythm and further laying the groundwork for his debut LP due this year.
